One of the most important things to consider is the size of your sunglasses, which should be directly proportional to the size of your face. Don’t look for larger frames if you have a small face – or the other way around. It’s important to go for frames that complement the face by softening or drawing attention away from its more noticeable features. Before going ahead and selecting frames, think about what you want to achieve, such as optically widening a long face or drawing attention away from an area.

Face Shape: Round
Aim for sharp, angular frames that will provide contrast to this soft face shape. Round frames are best avoided. Elongate with frames that are equal to or wider than the broadest part of your face. Sunglasses that are wider at the temples help draw attention away from the middle part.
Face Shape: Heart
Frames that broaden the lower part of the face work best – think details at the bottom, aviators, and generally straight-top sunglasses. Round frames will also flatter women with a heart-shaped face.
Face Shape: Square or Rectangular
First things first: Do you want to widen or lengthen your face? Choose horizontal frames to widen and vertical to lengthen.
If you have a square or rectangular face, opt for circular, soft silhouettes and dark, bold colors, all of which will direct attention away from strong features and add contrast. Round shapes will also balance out a narrow chin or high forehead, while tortoiseshell glasses will prove to be extra flattering as their color softens while their texture adds subtle lines.

Often referred to as the ideal shape, oval faces can pull off pretty much anything. Experiment with shapes, colors, and bold silhouettes; the only goal is to give a nice contrast to facial curves.
Face Shape: Diamond
This is the rarest of face shapes. Oval and rimless frames work great for wide or high cheekbones, as do most glasses with strong brow lines. You’re basically looking for sunglasses that widen the rest of the face.
