Zendaya Red Carpet Moments When Zendaya Coleman walked up the staircase of the 2017 Met Gala clad in a Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda dress covered in prints of flowers and parrots, her face framed by a voluminous afro, even Rihanna couldn’t resist. The Barbadian singer posted a snap on her Instagram account, which went on to garner over 1.7 million likes.
Celebrating her 22nd birthday on September 1, Zendaya has long since graduated from her Disney past to become a true fashion trailblazer, a transition that has expertly been guided by celebrity stylist Law Roach. Since they first met in 2011, the celebrated stylist (he’s also the man responsible for Celine Dion‘s latest transformation) has worked with the actress to create a signature, eclectic style peppered with fearless fashion choices. “She doesn’t have any fear when it comes to fashion,” Roach told Vogue earlier this summer. Their defiant and open-minded approach combines established brands, think Ralph & Russo and Fausto Puglisi, with newcomers like Vivettaand August Getty Atelier.
The pair brought their own interpretation to the 2018 Met Gala‘s religious theme, choosing a fierce Joan of Arc-inspired armor dress by Versace, complete with shoulder guards and chainmail covered in sequins. For the 2015 Academy Awards, they opted for a romantic off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood white gown topped with regal waist-length locks. Delicately draped at the waist and with a small train, the dress was actually part of the brand’s bridal collection. Trousers have also been one of their go-to red carpet looks, spanning Haider Ackermann‘s burgundy, sleek, crushed-velvet style to Rosie Assoulin‘s oversized flares in white silk cotton seersucker, and Christian Siriano‘s shocking pink pantsuit. Vogue rounds up her best red-carpet looks to date.
